LTD 250
Bronze-Cast
This is a remarkably rare, vintage, hand-signed Limited Edition #5/250 Bronze hand painted Figurine by the talented artist, Robert Olszewski. It dates to 1995 and is entitled "Lady with an Urn" in the pink dress, it was a LE revisit to the very first piece ever carved by Olszewski, the original being considered the rarest of all his pieces. Usually found in green or blue, this pink dress is a real treasure. It is in excellent condition, and comes with all its original packaging. (See photo). Hand signed.
Bob Olszewski had been creating miniatures for many years
using the lost wax method prior to creating miniature reproductions of Goebel’s
M.I. Hummels and Royal Doulton figurines. Another artist suggested to Bob
that he might be violating a trademark so he wrote both companies asking for
permission. Royal Doulton licensed him to reproduce their figurines in
miniature and Goebel asked to see his factory which they found consisted of a
closet in his house. Impressed with his abilities to miniaturize, Goebel offered
Bob a contract as “Master Artist” in July of 1979 and Goebel Miniatures Studio
in California was created. Later on he created Olszewski Studios and is
well known for his unique pieces licensed and created for the Disney
Corporation.
